There are several convenient ways for students to travel to Salesian High School.
A number of students travel by private bus to Salesian. There is an additional fee for this service. Reservations for this service are on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a year-long commitment. We do not provide one-way or monthly options.
There are three means of public transportation to Salesian.
1: New York City residents can receive a free Metro Card to be used on NYC subways and buses.
2: Westchester Metro Cards can be used on BeeLine buses operated by Westchester County. Buses 7, 42, 45 stop near to the school. Buses 60 and 61 stop in front of the school.
3: Metro North. Students may purchase a monthly Metro North train pass at any Metro North station. Metro North is a convenient way from Grand Central, 125th St., Fordham, Mount Vernon and Pelham stations as well as stations north and east of New Rochelle on the New Haven line. Salesian provides transportation from the New Rochelle station to school in the morning.
Many parents opt to drive their sons or carpool with neighbors. The school is convenient to I-95, the Hutchinson River Parkway, and the Cross County Parkway.
Some school districts provide bus transportation for students who live in their districts, e.g., Port Chester, Elmsford. Please check with the business manger’s office to see if your district is one which provides bus transportation at no cost to the student’s family.
