On Saturday, March 11, 2017, the Middle States Planning Team met for the second time. The Planning Team consists of Salesian High students, teachers, administrators, parents, alumni, and local New Rochelle college and business leaders. The team worked on two "foundation" documents by ratifying the new Salesian High School Mission Statement and approving the Profile of the Salesian High School Graduate. The team also review the surveys teachers, parents, and students completed in the fall about the 12 Standards for successful schools. Using the review of the surveys, the Planning Team brainstormed possible objectives for the next seven year accreditation period. The team's ideas will be added to ideas from the faculty and the Middle States Coordinating Committee will choose three to propose to the Middle States organization for approval. Future teams of students, parents and teachers will create strategies and action steps for these objectives so that the objectives can be achieved by the end of the new accreditation period in 2024.
The Planning Team will next meet in November, 2017, when the visiting team from the Middle States organization comes to Salesian High to validate the accreditation work the team completed.
