Grigio, Salesian High School’s student-produced literary magazine, is holding its first-ever writing competition to keep the winter blues at bay. To enter, students must write a story, poem, or creative essay on the following:
As human beings, our feelings tend to shift with the seasons. Whether it’s the joyful promise of the holidays or the seasonal depression that sometimes accompanies chilly weather, the transition from fall to winter provokes many different emotions in us. Write a story, poem, or creative essay that captures this emotional shift at the onset of winter.
All submissions should be sent to Mr. Marinaccio via email at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 25, 2021. Please title your message “Winter Writing Competition submission” and attach your work as a Word, Pages, or Google Doc file. Winners will be determined by the Salesian High School faculty. All submissions will be published and include an opportunity to work with Grigio editors to ready them for publication.
