As we embark on this journey, one filled with confusion and uncertainty, let us come together as a community of believers and remember whenever we feel alone, isolated, in fear of alienation, or abandoned in this time of separation, that God is with us. Help us be patient, diligent, compassionate, and reverent during these times. Let us spend this time with you and grow closer to you, not farther away. Keep all of us close to your heart.
Please help us as brothers and sisters come out more united from this. We come to you as our refuge. Be the light we follow. Be the voice to guide our way and be the friend we all need in our life. Guide us through this rough time; guide us to positivity in our hearts and minds. Lord, please watch over those who have this horrible illness. Give them hope and peace. Allow them no pain,
no suffering. Let them be healed.
God, please care for all the elderly, for those who are immunosuppressed and all who are vulnerable, and if infected, may struggle. Lord, care for those living with anxiety over the virus. We pray for everyone’s health and for all those deceased from this deadly virus. May their families find comfort in you. Rid the Earth of this plague. Turn back the clocks to a time before the pandemic. We pray for the world to be a better place and for all the bad things in the world to go away and come back as good. God, grant us the wisdom to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Heavenly Father, we ask for your forgiveness in our time of need, for all we may have done and in all we failed to do. Lord forgive us sinners who aren’t able to go to confession during these times of crisis. Please keep us safe and free from this terrible battle we are facing. Please restore the faith of those who have gone astray. Give us the strength to overcome this tragic reality. Give us the strength to trust you and to keep our faith strong.
We pray for all the world leaders and government officials, that they may keep the citizen's best interest at heart when making decisions. We ask that you show our health officials wisdom and courage to face this head-on. We pray for all those who work in hospitals and medical clinics, all healthcare workers, police and firemen who are all on the front lines. Please, help the unemployed and suffering business owners. We pray for people like MTA workers, who continue to provide daily services to get essential workers back and forth. We pray for the protection of our friends, our Salesian brothers, their families and their communities.
Heavenly Father, we give you thanks for the gifts you give us. Thank you for always providing us with blessings in the worst of times. Thank you for the air we breathe and even simply every day of life that you give us. Thank you for this time with our families. You are a loving and merciful God, and for that we are grateful. Thank you for healing 80,000 plus people from the coronavirus. You are greater than all our fears. We know that you have the ability to cease all storms, allow our souls to be still though winds of change may rage tomorrow. We have faith in you and trust in your plan for this world.
Let us remember the words from the book of the prophet Isaiah: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have CALLED you by name, you are mine.” We thank you, we glorify you, we give you all the praise.
Lord, help me through the prayers of St. John Bosco, who was a friend to any young person in need, that we must do all we can for others during this troubling time. Help me to realize that true joys in this world come from service to others.
Mary Help of Christians, pray for us. St. John Bosco, pray for us.
