Apply

We realize there are many educational options for your son(s), so we thank you for your interest in applying to Salesian High School. Below you will find information for incoming freshmen (8th graders) and students who are interested in transferring to Salesian. Please review this information. If you would like to move forward with applying to our school, please complete this form and our admissions department will be in touch.

8th Grade Applicants

An 8th grade applicant should register for and take the TACHS exam through the Archdiocese of New York. The exam is usually administered on the first Friday of November.

Interested students should also register for and take the Salesian High School Scholarship Exam. This invitation is extended to all 8th graders. This exam is administered at Salesian, usually on the first Saturday of December.

Salesian High School will receive the scores, make admissions decisions and send the results to families in mid-January.

Families must notify Salesian High School by mid-February of their intention to enroll for the upcoming school year, returning their acceptance card with the $150 acceptance fee.

Registration day is held on the first Wednesday in March in all high schools in the Archdiocese of New York. You will deliver, in person, a completed registration package as well as the registration fee of $725. Congratulations, you are officially a Salesian Eagle!

NOTE: If the 8th grade student does not take the TACHS Exam and/or the Salesian Scholarship Exam but is still interested in applying, he must:

  • Call Mr. Steve Sallustio, Director of Admissions, to request an appointment at (914) 632-0365 ext. 206.
  • Complete a paper application which includes a writing sample.
  • Present your 7th grade and most recent report cards.

Expect an admissions decision within a week.
