this
past
year,
a
relic
of
St.
John Bosco, has been travelling the world. The relic is a
life-sized wax statue of Don
Bosco
lying in state inside of a magnificent glass urn (shown below).
Inside of the wax image of Don
Bosco is contained bone from his right hand and arm. Click

Written on the frame of the relic is Don Bosco's motto in Latin: Da mihi animas caetera tolle, which means "Give me souls; take away the rest." On the base of the relic are the dates 1815, when Don Bosco was born, and 2015, the two hundredth anniversary of his birth, coming soon! In September and October, the relic of Don Bosco will be in the New York area. On Thursday, September 30, 2010, Salesian High students will visit the relic at Stony Point, NY, and join in on the Don Bosco Youth Rally. |
