Writing Project

A Comparison
of the lives of a
15th Century Native American Youth
and a
21st Century American Teenager

Now that you have completed the Native American Scavenger Hunt, you know more about the lives of young native Americans living along the east coast of what is now the United States of America around the time Europeans like Columbus began their explorations.

You will now create an Inspiration Idea Web comparing the life of an American teen living in the 21st Century, someone like you, with the life of a young 15th Century native American.  Begin your Idea Web following the example below...

Add third level ideas, add your name in a text box, and print your web.

Use the ideas in your web and Microsoft WORD to write a paragraph of about 250 words comparing your life to your native American counterpart of six centuries ago.  Begin with an opening sentence introducing your paragraph.  Next include the ideas from your Idea Web.  Finally, end your paragraph with a concluding sentence explaining whose life was better, your own or a native American, and why.

Add your name and print your paragraph by the due date.
