Final Examination Project
Local Revolutionary Battle Web Page

As you can see from the map at the left, where we all live was the frontline of the American Revolutionary War. What is now Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Putnam counties, Brooklyn, and Queens were the sites of terrible battles for our nation's freedom.  Where we go to school, church, shopping, and just hang out with our friends was the Baghdad of its day.

For your Final Examination Project, you will create a web page about a local Revolutinary War battle.  Choose from this list...
The Battle of
Long Island

The Battle of
Harlem Heights

The Battle of
Pelham
The Battle of
White Plains
The Battle of
Fort Washington

The Battle of
Stony Point

The Massacre of the
Stockbridge Indians
The Prison Ships
in New York Harbor

After you pick the battle for your project, use the online databases for your research.  Do NOT "copy and paste" information from the online databases to your web page.  All of the words on your web page should be your own. Suggestion: use the US History Research Center.  Do a subject search using the search term "american revolution" as shown below.  From the search results, click on the "View Topic Tree" link for "American Revolution, 1775-1783."  Scroll down to find information about your battle.
