Understanding the Agenda Book
The Agenda Book is your son's ticket to success.  We ask you to check it every day.
These are the parts of the Agenda Book you should know about.
Click on any page below for a larger view.

This is a typical Calendar Page.  Your son enters his assignments here and checks off when they are completed.  You should see homework assignments every day; your son gets homework every day.  Remember also, if he took notes in class today, TONIGHT he must transfer those notes into his Cornell notebook.  For more information about the Cornell note taking technique, click here or here.  These links are from West Chester University and George Washington University.  The calendar pages begin on page 7.
On page R-24 at the back of the Agenda Book is a page with a grid for your son to copy in his schedule.  You should see his schedule already written here.  If he hasn't written in his schedule yet, make sure he does so.

On page R-23 is the Personal Directory.  Your son should get one or two phone numbers from classmates in each class so that, if he is ever absent, he can call a classmate and find out what was covered in class and what the homework is.
On pages R-4 and R-5 is the important Record of Achievement.  Your son should devote one column to each of his classes.  He should record in these columns his test grades and project grades.  You should be able to look at these pages and figure out how your son is doing in each class.  Teachers try to get ten grades per quarter, so you should see grades recorded here each quarter.

At the beginning of the Agenda Book, right after the Student Manual, starting on page H-1, is an extremely helpful section titled, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens."  The help in this section will ensure that your son succeeds in school; review this section with him often.  If your son has not read this section yet, make him read it TONIGHT!
At the back of the Agenda Book, after all of the Calendar Pages, starting on page R-1, is the Reference Resource Guide.  This section is full of helpful information for any and all of your son's classes.
